Blue Spring State Park
Blue Spring State Park is located in Orange City, Florida, around 40 miles north of Orlando. This park is known for its abundant wildlife and manatees. You can swim, snorkel, scuba dive, and boat most of the year. It is prohibited from November 15th through March 1st because of the manatees.

Blue Spring State Park Campgrounds
Blue Spring State Park Campgrounds have over 50 campsites and six cabins that you can rent, and you're able to bring your pets. There's a boardwalk that is 1/3 of a mile from the St. Johns River to the main headspring. Multiple picnic areas are scattered throughout the park, where you can sit down for a bite to eat. The park also includes volleyball courts and a playground, and you can go fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. You have a chance to see many other types of wildlife besides manatees, such as bears, raccoons, and plenty of bird species.
Manatees at Blue Springs
Since 1970 the park has been keeping track of the manatees, and their numbers went up from 14 in 1970 to 485 in 2018. Their numbers were very low due to people hunting them and boats striking them with their propellers. The manatees eat around 100 pounds of vegetation each day. They migrate to these areas in the winter to keep warmer.
